Mobile application developer Viaden Mobile has released a new Blackjack application 'Ultimate Blackjack HD'. Ultimate Blackjack has been developed to work on the iPhone, iPod Touch and more importantly the iPad.
Viaden have attempted to give the application a real casino ambience by including background sounds and the voice of a real dealer. I have to a played the Ultimate Blackjack application on my iPhone and have broadly enjoyed the experience. However, on an iPhone the graphics seem a little cramped and when playing without sound it is difficult or at least not obvious at first which of your three hands are in play. The music also has the potential to become annoying for a serious player over time.
Similar to Viaden's slots application the Ultimate Blackjack application comprises of several different versions of Blackjack, included within the application is Blackjack (multi-hand), Blackjack Surrender and Blackjack Switch. The games have been tested by numerous test agencies such as GLI, TST (now part of GLI) and iTech Labs, this should confirm fair play and integrity.
Having played many Blackjack games on the iPhone I would say that I prefer games which are quicker placed and allow you to play through hands in a speedier fashion. Ultimate Blackjack is definitely a polished application but I am not sure whether it is the best application for the serious Blackjack player.
I have only played Ultimate Blackjack HD on an iPhone I look forward to playing on an iPad. A great benefit with Blackjack Ultimate HD is the fact that when purchased it can be downloaded to any supported device.
The application requires an iPhone, iPod Touch or an iPad with OS3.0 or later, the application size is 21.6MB. Ultimate Blackjack costs $3.99 or the relevant currency equivalent.
